How Are Your Values Holding Up?

How Are Your Values Holding Up?

Jan 14, 2026
Mid-January is a powerful checkpoint. The excitement of a new year has settled, routines are reasserting themselves, and reality has gently—or not so gently—tapped us on the shoulder. So here’s the real question: How are your values holding up?

Maybe you set New Year’s resolutions with the best of intentions: eat better, be more present, slow down, step up. And yet, a few weeks in, you may already feel friction between what you intended and how you’re actually living. That friction is important. It’s not failure—it’s feedback.

Your values are always at work. They determine what gets your attention, where your energy goes, and how you spend your time. When your values are serving you well, you feel momentum, clarity, and alignment. When they’re not, you’re more likely to feel frustrated, scattered, or quietly disappointed with yourself.

This is the moment most people either double down on willpower or give up. But there’s a better move: pause and reassess what’s truly important to you now—not last year, not who you think you should be, but who you are becoming.

Ask yourself:
What am I choosing to focus on every day?
What am I investing my time and energy in?
Do those choices reflect the life I want to live?

If the answer is no, that’s good. Awareness is the doorway to change.

It’s never too late to course-correct. January doesn’t expire, and neither does your ability to make better choices. Every misstep from the past—this year or any year—is simply a lesson pointing you toward greater alignment.

Adjust what matters. Refocus your energy. Reclaim your time.

Your values aren’t fixed—they’re tools. And when you choose them consciously, they become the foundation for meaningful, lasting change.
